Consoles are like Communism

P.S:This article is very one way sided towards battlefield, so I apologize if I offend you COD player.

Consoles are like Communism, everyone has the same (everyone is happy); PC gamers are like Americans during the cold war they try their best to end communism(console gaming) by any means necessary, so that gaming becomes unfair with the rich being able to dominate with their $3000 gaming rig and the poor with their non-gaming laptop running bf4 at 3 fps trying their best with actual skill. No offence, but I'm just philosophizing. The bf3 community is like Mensa they are educated, but are self righteous and hate on console players/cod players (norm-folk), and want them as far away as possible from their game; I know the cod community is half 10 year olds who don't play well and douchebags, but I think the bf3 community should welcome them to the franchise, because for every battlefield player there is one less cod player (which allows more room for innovation in the fps g…

Persuasive Essay - Appreciate Video Games

Most people have come to believe that video games have a negative effect on people, but that isn't the case. Video games have gotten a bad reputation since the 1992 release of Mortal Kombat a violent fighter game that forced the video game industry to create the ESRB a rating system to prevent kids from playing video games with mature themes. Video games aren't just games they are a new form of art that deliver boxed up experiences to people who couldn't experience it in any other way.      Video games haven't been looked at as an art form, because its new and not many artists are pioneering it, so only the big game developing corporations are represented, serving as wide an audience as possible for a profit; these violent, linear, brown tinted, little story or no story at all war games have become the popular stereotype that people think of when video games are mentioned. The reason why these big budget blockbuster violent action games are popular is because the…

GameboyJam Experiences

link to the jam's site
I guess this all started earlier this summer around late June...
Surfing the forums on gamejolt as usual when suddenly I found a gamejam and I knew what they were at the time, but had recently missed Ludum Dare, so I decided to give this thing a try; a week later I created a post on the GameboyJam Forums looking for partnership, and I waited, and waited, and waited, but nobody responded. I could understand why nobody would want to be jammin with an ammeter like me, but the next day I found a similar post on the same forum; I replied instantly after constantly refreshing the page every few minutes from excitement.

He let me in the team!
We exchanged contact information, then quickly set up a design document.
I got to 'Work' and soon found myself in a position that I have never been in before, and I have to admit I really liked it.
After we put the jokes aside as well as my crappy clip art we started to work on the master documen…

An Apology

I'm sorry to announce that my game Hildonbraek is a failure  The game was going well in the editor, so I exported it and published it thinking that it was perfect... I was wrong. The game had tons of game breaking bugs that couldn't be fixed that wouldn't let the player go to other zones, or ones that made the player fall out of the floor onto an abyss of nothing. I tried all day to fix these errors, but so far there is absolutely nothing I can do which makes me mad. Hopefully everyone will forget about this game and move on. Again all I can say is Sorry.

Why doesn't my ninja watermelon cyborg cactus love me?
I will tell you why your ninja watermelon cyborg cactus doesn't love you; your ninja watermelon cyborg cactus doesn't love you, because your ninja watermelon cyborg cactus loves me; you are out of the picture, and I'm sorry this is the way you had to hear it.

I found an Easter egg in your game Susie with a page that has a drawing of a turtle named George and next to that it says Monkey Scrotum; why have that in there?!
Monkey Scrotum he he he...
That really doesn't answer my question.
Hey I'm the one who asks the questions around here that should be answered!
Just because your text is bold doesn't mean anything about who is in charge here.
No it doesn't.

Hype ( The promotional kind not the needle kind )

First things first making games is something that takes time, and when I speak of time here's an estimation of how long it will take you or me to make a game 0.001 - 5
Notice I didn't put any more description on the estimation values in seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, or years; that's because art shouldn't be rushed with deadlines of any sort, so when people keep on asking for games that are highly anticipated games to come out sooner remember that the developers are under a lot of pressure to deliver, so when you are rushing them they will hurry and make a worse game, so don't do that. Give the developer time to make their game. Games should wait to announce when the game is around 90% percent finished, because if they announce a cool trailer when the game is nowhere close to being finished people will go through some stages of many different emotions...

Stage 1: Super Excited / Asking tons of frequently asked questions ( This is good )
Stage 2: Rea…

Should Video Games and Current events mix?

7 hours ago the team who are working on Watch Dogsa truly awesome looking game that I' am going to buy in the future added a photo to their page; that simple change made a lot of homophobic A$$@&!^# respond, as well as reasonable people; all I know is there is a lot of controversy on the matter.

Here are some screenshots of the comments (without the names or pictures of the people who posted them)

Do you think current events and games should mix, because I think they should; The game is about questioning are freedoms and I think this ties very well into the games theme, and its good for advertisement just saying; there are people behind the game that have opinions, thus I think its great that Ubisoft has shown what they believe in and all I can say about this is Damn Right I Support It, and at the end of the day the moral is there are more reasonable people who are calling out the stupid ignorant people of the past on their uneducated stupid opinions. Gosh how I love America a…

What makes a good game?

Recently I have been asking myself one question in particular and that question is What makes a good game? I've been doing a lot of research (playing video games), and the recipe isn't simple; good games have their own motives when it comes to the game being good, so I just split those good games types into categories.

Category 1 : The choice game ~ Examples : Skyrim / Stanley Parable / Tetris ~
A game that involves a lot of interesting choices for the player to make that have an affect on the games outcome, because isn't that why games are interactive?

Category 2 : The pretty game ~ Examples : Dear Ester / Fez / Proteus ~
A game that is beautiful visually with its important audio counterpart, and even if there isn't much happening you still enjoyed it.

Category 3 : The game that makes you think ~ Examples : Anti Chamber / Limbo / Morrowind ~ A game that makes people think is one of the rarest game types out there, because it takes a clever developer to make a clever g…
