ASMR Recommendations

A friend of mine recently moved into a new place and needed some help getting sleep so I composed this list of recommendations to help. I felt like I should share with you all and just in case the standalone site expires or something I'll be posting it here as a blog post.

So without further ado, here's my ASMR Recommendations.,,

But first, what is ASMR?
"Autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR) is a term used for an experience characterized by a static-like or tingling sensation on the skin that typically begins on the scalp and moves down the back of the neck and upper spine. It has been compared with auditory-tactile synesthesia." - Wikipedia

Basically, it's relaxing videos on the internet that help me go to sleep, reduce stress when I'm feeling anxious, and make me feel better if I'm feeling shitty. I don't usually watch the videos themselves, but rather put in headphones, play a video, and minutes later I'm asleep. "When you're sleeping there's no lonely times, only dreams..." - Dr.Steve Brule I sometimes listen to them in the background while doing homework during the day, but recommend against that as the temptation to nap is far too great. It's super relaxing and can help with insomnia, anxiety, stress, etc... and no, it's not sexual or weird to listen to. Psychologically speaking, I think it's just a type of a platonic intimacy that is missing in many people's lives. The most famous example of ASMR is Bob Ross and his softly spoken TV painting program, but I found out about ASMR through the comments section of a Jacques P├ępin cooking YouTube video.

I made this list of my personal recommendations about 45 different videos (all of which I have listened to, fell asleep to, and carefully selected). However, I do recommend checking out the other videos on these creator's channels as there's a lot more great videos out there. This list isn't completely comprehensive, there's tons of different triggers out there - these are just some of my favorites.
